Full Name:

Kimberly Wright

Nickname:

Kimi (only used by childhood/very close friends and family)

What do you do professionally?

I’m a Senior Producer for GBH Kids currently working on a preschool animated series called WORK IT OUT WOMBATS! which airs on PBS Kids!

What do you want to do (professionally and/or personally)?

Start my own kids casting company and continue to create fun, engaging content for kids. I’d also love to publish a children’s book!

Do you have any passion projects or ideas you want to explore?

I’ve taken a couple of acting classes, just for fun, and I’d love to take another one and maybe explore the idea of performing in a play (or maybe even audition for some small tv/film roles). I’m also interested in getting into voice acting!

Who inspires you? Why?

My kids! Seeing them live life to the fullest, follow their passions and dreams, face their fears and do what they love motivates me to do the same – and drives me to do everything I can to help set them up for success!

Hobbies / Interests / Things that bring you joy:

Traveling, biking, film-fests, live music, comedy shows, spending time with friends, eating good food, and finding new restaurants to try (I’m a self-proclaimed foodie!)—and of course, being a mom!

Greatest accomplishments:

Six Emmy Awards for Outstanding Preschool Series while working as a Film Producer on Sesame Street… and overcoming many fears (including my fear of open water and being out at sea), traveling to the Persian Gulf in 2006—flying in a military aircraft and landing on an aircraft carrier—to produce a three-part holiday series as a Senior Producer on The Montel Williams Show.

Future accomplishments:

Pay off debt, save more for retirement, and learn more about investing!

What excites you about being a Creative + Member?

I’m a people person, so working from home these past few years has come with its challenges. Creative+ has given me a true sense of community and a space to meet really interesting, creative, and genuine people. I always look forward to the monthly connections, parents’ lunches, and other events. It truly feels like a safe space to connect with like-minded individuals and just be myself.

Best piece of advice you have ever been given:

“Just do it!” (I’m usually never disappointed).

Who is someone you want to collaborate with? Why?

I believe the best collaborations often come from unexpected connections so I’m leaving space for magic.

Favorite quote:

“Life is like a camera. Just focus on what’s important and capture the good times, develop from the negatives, and if things don’t work out, just take another shot.” – Ziad K. Abdelnour

What does your best life look like?

Traveling the world to see beautiful places and experience different cultures with family and/or friends (Italy, Tahiti, and Africa are the top three on the bucket list), eating amazing food, and meeting new and interesting people along the way.

Last words for the Creative + Community and beyond:

Don’t be afraid to try new things and push boundaries. Creativity thrives on exploration and taking calculated risks. As Maya Angelou once said, “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.”
